| Overview |
On May 14, 2010 (adjusted on July 23, 2010), APCo filed a base rate case with the West Virginia Public Service Commission requesting a net increase of $143.0 million, comprised of a $223.8 million base rate increase offset by a $68.3 million decrease in the construction surcharge and by $12.5 million for continuation of the construction surcharge related to the Amos 1 scrubber. The filing related to capital investments made and to recover increased costs. In addition, APCo requested to establish a separate transmission tracker related to PJM charges.
Existing rates were established by WVPSC order in Case No. 05-1278-EPC-PW-42T issued in July 2006 based upon a test year ending December 31, 2004, with an ROE of 10.5%.
