Dividend Contest Official Rules
10 winners will be selected, one from each of the seven regional operating companies: AEP Ohio (including Wheeling Power), AEP Texas, Appalachian Power (including Kingsport), Indiana Michigan Power, Kentucky Power, Public Service Company of Oklahoma, and Southwestern Electric Power. The remaining three winners will be selected from AEP Service Corporation, Retirees, and all other AEP employees that are not in any of the other above categories (e.g. River Operations etc).
The above winners will be selected from a drawing which will include all employees/retirees who correctly answered all seven questions. If no employee/retiree in a particular group answered all questions correctly, then the drawing will include all those who answered 6 questions correctly, etc.
Each of these winners will receive 10 shares of AEP stock and will be included in the grand prize drawing for the opportunity to participate in the bell-ringing festivities on the NYSE on June 3, 2010, along with AEP Board members and senior management. The grand prize drawing will be held May 13 at a company-wide webcast event.
Each employee/retiree may enter the contest only once.
The contest begins at noon on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, and ends on May 11, 2010, at 11:59 p.m.
AEP Treasury department employees and all employees in Corporate Communications who worked on the 100 year celebration in any capacity are excluded from the contest.
AEP will pay the reasonable and customary expenses for the employee/retiree to travel to New York City for the NYSE bell ringing ceremony. No overnight stay in New York is anticipated, but depending on the location of the winner, an overnight stay in Columbus may be required.
The contest winner must obtain supervisor approval to travel to New York, (if an employee) and pass security clearance requirements established by the NYSE.
If you have any questions about the contest rules, please contact Bette Jo Rozsa, Julie Sherwood, or Kathleen Kozero in Investor Relations. However, please do not contact them seeking information to help you answer the contest questions.
The grand prize winner must be an employee or retiree on June 3, 2010. If you elected to take advantage of the severance package, you will be grouped in the category where you worked at the close of the contest on May 11, 2010.
