Miller, 62, joined AEP in 1995 as chief counsel - Fuel Supply. He was named chief counsel - Power Generation & Litigation in 1996 and deputy general counsel in 2002. Before joining AEP, Miller was a partner in the Columbus office of Porter Wright Morris & Arthur, where he served as a departmental practice manager, chairman of the Associate Evaluation and Compensation Committee and a member of the New Partner Admissions Committee.
He has a bachelor’s degree in government from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, and holds a juris doctor degree from The Ohio State University College of Law in Columbus. He is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel and is a mentor in the Ohio Supreme Court’s Lawyer to Lawyer Mentoring Program. Miller also is vice chair of the United Way of Central Ohio’s Education Impact Council. Miller is admitted to practice law in Ohio and is licensed to appear before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Sixth and District of Columbia Circuits and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio.
